IRCTC Website Hacked, Over 1 Crore of Customer Personal Data Stolen

IRCTC Website Hacked – Maharashtra police has notified the Indian Railways for alleged hacking of its e-ticketing portal “IRCTC” on Tuesday night and around 1 crore of customers personal data is stolen form the server of the IRCTC website.

IRCTC is the online e-ticketing website for Indian Railway and conducted lakhs of transactions online each and every day and have saved personal data of around 1 crore customers like Pan Card, Mobile Number, Address, Email Id etc

“Somebody can create forged documents on the basis of the stolen data.”  An IRCTC source said, “The data is a valuable asset and can be sold to corporations who may use it for targeting potential consumers.”

As per media sources, Hacker breached around 1 crore customers data and sold in CDs worth Rs. 15000/-

“IG Maharashtra police cyber cell has informed IRCTC about Data theft from its website but the details of the said data are still to be shared with IRCTC. IRCTC will be issuing a  detailed press note later today,” officials said upon IRCTC Website hacked
